Softball team makes great showing at tournaments

The Mount Vernon Lady Tiger softball team recently competed in two round robin tournaments. The went 4-1 in Sulphur Springs and 4-2 at Longview.

Tigers blank Quitman, split games with Commerce

Lady Tigers are State bound

Regional Champions - Mount Vernon Lady TigersThe Mount Vernon Lady Tigers basketball team won the Regional Championship on Saturday, February 24 after defeating the Winnsboro Lady Raiders 50-35 at Heath High School in Rockwall.

Lions are Area champs, ladies fall to Slidell

The Saltillo Lions basketball team defeated Dodd City 55-51 to claim the Area title last Thursday in Paris. The Lady Lions fell to Slidell in the Regional Quarterfinal game Tuesday, February 21 with a final score of 37-44.

Lions, Lady Lions in playoffs

Both the Lions and Lady Lions basketball teams for Saltillo ISD are advancing in post season play. The Lions will play the winner between Forestburg and Dodd City last Tuesday.
