JV retains perfect 5-0 district record

The Mount Vernon junior varsity football team blanked Quitman 48-0 on the Bulldogs’s home field. This victory brings the young Tigers to a 5-0 district record and 8-1 overall.

Saltillo boys dominate Chapel Hill meet

The Saltillo Lions boys cross country teams dominated the Chapel Hill meet on Thursday, October 13. The varsity boys team won first place with 25 points, with five runners earning medals.

Saltillo teams headed to regional meet

Both the varsity boys and girls cross country teams from Saltillo are headed to the regional meet on Saturday, October 29 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.

Junior high girls first at Chapel Hill meet

All five members of the junior high girls team finished in the top 10 and scored 24 points to win first place as a team at the Chapel Hill cross country meet on Thursday, October 13.

Lady Tigers advancing to regional cross country

The Mount Vernon Lady Tiger varsity cross country team has earned the right to advance to the regional meet after placing third at the district meet on Wednesday, October 19.

JV undefeated in district play

The junior varsity Tigers are undefeated in district play after beating Mineola 36-6. “Once again, it was another incredible defensive performance by the JV,” Coach Jim Solomon said.
